At at the TBF office, here in New England, we are still soaking up the precious days of summer. Our friends, colleagues, and especially our scholarship students, in the Dominican Republic, are preparing to start the school year.
At the end of July our local staff, Gris and Leyri, met with 28 of 30 families in our scholarship program to discuss the 2017 school year, program expectations, and answer questions. Families submitted lists of the supplies each students needs for the year to come. Leyri and Gris and our US based staff are hard at work pricing out supplies, making necessary purchases, and preparing for the distribution party that will take place at the local community center in just a few weeks.
We look forward to sharing photos from the school supply distribution party as well as the goals each child in the program will set for the school year to come in September.
